[edit] Bon Voyage Bugs
This is a list of bugs that have been identified in the Bon Voyage expansion. To the best of our knowledge, these bugs are simply present in this expansion pack and are not related to hacks or custom content conflicts.
[edit] New Tour Guides Constantly Generated
Major bug!
There appears to be an issue where Bon Voyage will spawn a new NPC tour guide every time it needs one, rather than recycling the same ones. This results in a lot of spam in your character files, and if you go on a lot of vacations, can contribute heavily to neighborhood overcrowding. The more character files you have, the worse it is for your neighborhood, and it can eventually start going Very Wrong, with things like sims simply disappearing.
- This issue is fixed in the Bon Voyage patch
[edit] New Speakers are Wrong
The new speaker systems for community lots appear to be somewhat... scrambled. The "Reggea" speaker is named the same as the pop music speaker (Bubblegum Sugar), and the "Reggea," "Surf Music," and "Big Band Music" speakers produce pop music, while the "World Music" speaker produces salsa music.
- There is no known fix for this issue at this time.
[edit] Swimmable Lots Suddenly Unswimmable
An unfortunate bug in BV seems to cause any lots with swimmable beaches to become unswimmable if you place them in the lot bin, then back in the neighborhood. This appears to also prevent users from downloading lots with swimmable beaches, since they must be placed through the lot bin.
- There is no known fix for this issue at this time.
[edit] Content Cannot Be Deleted in Create-a-Sim
Content in Create a Sim that could be deleted before using the trash can icon can no longer be deleted using that method. You can still delete sim content from Body Shop. Whether this is by design or unintentional is unclear (since they intentionally made object recolours no longer deletable through the catalog before).
- There is no known fix for this issue at this time.
[edit] Jewelry
Some people are experiencing a situation where their sims cannot take off jewelry even though it shows the no jewel symbol. When selecting the option to wear the same jewels everyday some people are having the sim end up with all the different facial piercings which then have to be removed manually.
- There is no known fix for this issue at this time.
[edit] Force 12 Hour Clock Option Resets
Some users have reported that the "Force 12 Hour Clock" game option resets to the default each time they play, and it must be changed with every load of the game.
- There is no known fix for this issue at this time (besides simply fixing the option with every load of the game).
[edit] Installing Bon Voyage Uninstalls Previous Expansions
For some reason, similar to previous EPs, Bon Voyage sometimes has problems in detecting previous expansions when it is installed. For this reason, it may report that it has uninstalled Seasons or other previous expansions when you run it.
- To prevent this, you can bypass the launcher. More information on doing so can be found here, posted by Numenor on MTS2: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=248218
[edit] Other Bon Voyage Issues
We are still identifying bugs related to Bon Voyage, and doing our regular bug tracking procedures. As MTS2 moderators only play a limited amount themselves, it is your bug reports that give us the information we need to track these bugs.
First remove ALL CUSTOM CONTENT!!!
We cannot stress this enough!! Just because you don't -think- it's a custom content issue doesn't mean it isn't a custom content issue. Just because you don't have hacks or hacked objects doesn't mean it's not a custom content issue! Custom content items you would never expect would cause a problem can - for example, in Pets, all custom toilets could cause both sim and cat to reset when trying to toilet train a cat - even if you weren't using a custom toilet!
In order to identify whether it is actually a bug with the EP or whether it's due to custom content, please follow the steps on this FAQ: Game Problem
It will walk you through the necessary steps to back up your game, remove custom content, test, then try without any user files whatsoever.
You must test your game without all custom content, and then with new user files before posting bugs regarding the new EP.
This eliminates people reporting bugs that are due to corrupted user files (something having gone wrong with their saves that is neither custom content nor EP related - just gone weird) as well as the more common issue of people relating bugs that are due to custom content conflicts.
If the problem persists even without any custom content and without user files, you can post a new thread in the Game Help forum on MTS2 with a bug report. You will find that forum here: http://www.modthesims2.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=31
Click the New Thread button and follow the instructions on the screen that will display before you post. It will also ask for certain information when you're posting - make sure to provide that, too.
