* Based on this Changes from SOP starting from 1.22 note, looks like there won't be any separate patches for any packs anymore. So what does this mean? The info plist of your EPs and SPs would show the last patch you applied to it, or its original retail version. For example, my Generations is at "<tt>GameVersion = 8.0.152.011001</tt>". But, Launcher will tag on the level numbers so it becomes "<tt>8.0.152.012001</tt>" in the Launcher screen ("<tt>9.0.73.012001</tt>" if you have Town Life), to match the base game's level (see Level column in Game_Help:Patch_Table).

Current Patch Versions (OSX)

  • Patch 1.24.3 - released on Jul 26, 2011.
  • No links yet for EPs & SPs.
  • Based on this Changes from SOP starting from 1.22 note, looks like there won't be any separate patches for any packs anymore. So what does this mean? The info plist of your EPs and SPs would show the last patch you applied to it, or its original retail version. For example, my Generations is at "GameVersion = 8.0.152.011001". But, Launcher will tag on the level numbers so it becomes "8.0.152.012001" in the Launcher screen ("9.0.73.012001" if you have Town Life), to match the base game's level (see Level column in Game Help:Patch_Table).
  • Version.tag would show your true Base Game's gameversion, ie
[Version]
LatestBase = 1.24.3.012001

which would match your Base Game's icon in Launcher when you hover over it and your info plist. To verify the patch really did update your game and completes the full process, you can verify that all versions in these 3 different areas are identical: Version tag == Launcher's BG icon == BG's info plist.

  • Town Life's retail disc has a base game patch version at 1.23.65.012001, which you can totally skip if you have downloaded the 1.22 SuperPatcher previously and also the 1.24 update to patch base game to 1.24, before installing Town Life Stuff.
  • There's still no 1.24 SuperPatcher for OS X, so if you need to reinstall, you need to patch to 1.24 in 2 stages:
    1. to 1.22 first with the 1.22 SuperPatcher, then
    2. to 1.24 with the 1.24-from-1.22 incremental patch.
  • If you had backed up the previous "To-6135-1.22.9.0110xx.tgz" file as recommended below, you can use that instead of redownloading.
  • If you're using Launcher (well, if you're using Launcher, you wouldn't be here, but just in case you guys read this anyway), and it stalls after patching to 1.22, you can Force Quit (Cmd+Alt+Esc) and then let Launcher restarts itself to prompt you that now there is an update to 1.24 available. If it doesn't auto-restart, just start it manually from your Alias.

EllaMeshTutorial 10.gif Reminder:

Ensure you have done a backup of the game and the patches before patching, as there is no other way to revert to previous patch versions once you have patched up in OSX. Instructions in How to back up a game patch under OS X
