As of February 2011, this method means you're installing and patching in the following sequence:

* BG + EADM, then run Launcher or patch BG manually to 1.19

* WA then run Launcher or patch WA manually to 2.14

* HEL then run Launcher or patch HEL manually to 3.10

* AMB then run Launcher or patch AMB manually to 4.7

* FL then run Launcher or patch FL manually to 5.5

* LN then run Launcher or patch LN manually to 6.2

* OL (no patch yet) 7.0

If at any time, Launcher stalls or you would rather use an executable file to patch (don't install EADM at all), download [[Game_Help:TS3_Patching:Patch_Download/Current|these files]] and just bypass the Launcher.

Standard Method

If you're also reinstalling Expansion Pack(s) and/or Stuff Pack(s),

  1. reinstall base-game
  2. do not install EADM
  3. test load the unpatched base-game first (via the TS3.exe)
  4. install the first Expansion/Stuff Pack that you have
  5. do not install EADM
  6. test load the unpatched Expansion/Stuff Pack game (via the TS3?P0?.exe)
  7. install EADM with the last EP/SP

If you have no other packs to install, you can now run Launcher to patch both games to the current patch version. Remember to let Launcher run and patch twice if you have two games. If you have more packs to install, test load each game before proceeding to the next always via the .exe; and only run Launcher when you're ready to start patching all the games at the end.

The install method above would use the patch included in the retail game disc for the base game only. Therefore, this method may cause the games and packs to be on different patch levels as Launcher tend to only patch the base game and last pack installed. A SimGuru on the official forums assured that as long as the base game's and last pack's gameversions are on the same patch series, quote "You're fine" end-quote. To workaround this shortcoming, try the alternative method below.

Alternative Method

An alternative method is

  1. reinstall base-game
  2. test load the unpatched base-game first (via the TS3.exe)
  3. run Launcher to patch to the current level
  4. test load the patched base-game again (via the TS3W.exe in base game path available in patch 1.22 onwards)
  5. if it didn't crash, install the first Expansion/Stuff Pack that you have
  6. at the message of mismatch versions, click OK or Next
  7. after install is complete, run Launcher again to patch this EP/SP to current level so it matches the base game's patch level
  8. test load the patched Expansion/Stuff Pack game (via the TS3?P0?.exe or TS3W.exe in base game path available in patch 1.22 onwards)
  9. repeat steps #5-8 for each of the other games you have

This method would ensure that all the games you have would be on the same patch series, ready for the next patch release.

If at any time, Launcher stalls or you would rather use an executable file to patch (don't install EADM at all), download these files and just bypass the Launcher.
