Hello-A new idea? Maybe not?
I've been viewing most of the tutorials on the site and one thing seemed to turn me off. All of the tutorials are off site? Why can't we just add them to Sims2Wiki instead of them "outside"?
- Becuase not all the tutorials are on MTS2, and not all the tutorial writers would want them to be reproduced here, notwithstanding the fact that it'd take a very long time to actually convert tutorials in a usable form to the wiki. The tutorial section here is designed to organise what is already out there in the community - it is not meant to be an actual tutorial site in it's own right. Helping people to find what they need through organisation and categorisation is the plan - especially given the sheer amount of content out there. Delphy 04:54, 8 February 2007 (CST)
Rules for challenges ?
Is it in project to sum up the rules for the different kinds of challenges out there ? I feel like a wiki would be very useful, more than the websites that are maintained by only a few people, or than some forums/boards that not everyone knows about. Or is it something that is not included in sims2wiki's goals ? - ladyteruki (2007-02-23)
New section, or suggestions on where to put it
I have been amassing a list of objects that are modeled after real life furniture, lamps, etc, mostly in the mid-century design genre. Is it a good idea to start up the list here, or does anyone have a good suggestion of what site to put it on? On yeah, and let me know if one of these is already going. I've asked around, but yeah. -snotface (march 28 '07)
- See the Content Lists for things like this. Delphy 04:55, 30 March 2007 (CDT)
I was thinking of making a new content list exclusively for these items, as a place to gather them. There doesn't seem to be one already; are you saying the "real" objects are disbursed throughout the other categories and no such list is necessary?
- There are plenty of items already in the Content List based on real-life items. I don't think it warrants a separate list. For example, Ikea furniture can go on the Content List:Decorating Themes#Modern list (as there are already some), just saying what it is. Then if someone searches for Ikea, they'll get that stuff. Same with any other items - designs from 60's designers can go on the Content List:Historical and Ethnic/1900s#1950s-1960s area, with the designer's name in the description, etc. and so forth. Updating External Links
I don't see any clear instructions on what to do to update dead links on protected pages like the Content Lists and sub-pages. It would be helpful to provide a means to do that...as the whole idea is to provide current and accurate information. Judfer
