MTS Creator Guidelines

How the upload process works

Before uploading and sharing your creations, please be aware that MTS has specific criteria and guidelines for quality of uploads. These guidelines ensure that the general overall quality of uploads found here surpasses that of other sites, and that the details and info on uploads is helpful and looks good.

Please do not be disappointed if your upload is rejected for not meeting these guidelines. Usually the specific PM you get details why your specific upload has not been approved at that time - either becuase it's a flat out rejection (which is usually if you have missed key points of these FAQs, or for a number of other reasons), or if it's a changes required (which means small fixes or changes are needed). If you have read the PM, double-checked the guidelines, and are still unsure as to why your upload was rejected, you can ask for further explanation in Creator Issues.

All Categories

These guidelines apply to all sections, Sims 2, Sims 3 and Sims 4. For more specific guidelines for each category, please see below.

  • Screenshot Basics - How to take better screenshots, control the game's camera, and adjust your graphics options for best results.

Sims 2

General

  • Compatibility - What you need to know about marking EPs required/compatible on your uploads.
  • Meshes - What information you need to include if you have made a new mesh for your upload.

Specific Categories

These are our guidelines for specific upload categories and sections.

  • Body Shop - All sim-related content like skins, eyes, clothes, hair, etc. (except for sims themselves).
  • Game Mods - Game Modifications (aka hacks).
  • Majors - Custom University majors.
  • Pets - Cats and dogs.
  • Sims - Guidelines for all sims - celebrities and otherwise.

Sims 3

Please note that for all categories, we do not accept simple Create a Style designs! If you make a neat dress or good wood pattern in Create a Style, or use the colour sliders to make some hair or eye colours, please do not upload your styles here. We only accept truly original items that cannot be made by anyone in game using the preset patterns and colour sliders.

Before you upload, make sure your zip or rar files contain only .package files, unless it's a Lot. See Convert_Sims3Pack_to_Package for more details. We do not accept .sims3pack files for anything other than lots!
