CAW Climate Tuning Tutorial

Introduction

Defining a Climate

In The Sims 3 each world is governed by a world file. Inside each world file is a set of tuning and images files that contribute to that world's distinct appearance. I say "contribute" because there are a lot of other elements, such as the way a world is sculpted and painted, and what kind of flora a creator has put down, that also contribute to this, and those are all outside the purview of this tutorial. This tutorial is intended simply to demystify and set out in very simple, easy to understand terms how you can change the atmosphere of your world, how you can make the sky and sea of a world evoke , for examples, the tropics or the alps.

Climate is distinct from the weather system introduced with Seasons, it is more about the overall appearance of the world - the kind of hues it has and how regularly they alter. However, climate as discussed in this tutorial does influence how seasonal effects look.
