"The museum is one of the most important places in town. To follow on from my archaeology theme, here's the Museum Curator career. Not all my history-lovers want to dig up precious artefacts; some want to educate others about them. So the Museum Curator career seemed an ideal opportunity so let them do just that.

What Makes It Different?
The Museum Curator career is a little different from other careers because it actually will not show up on the job listings unless you have an appropriate degree. More on that later.

Technical Details
The career has 10 levels and no additional branching. There are 6 work from home assignments available should you wish to use them and there are no daily tasks. There are no uniforms.

The sim will get the Museum Patron reward trait when they reach the top of the career.
The career requires Discover University and Jungle Adventure. The Jungle Adventure requirement is purely for the reward trait.

Custom Interactions
I have created a small set of interactions for Sims in the career. Found under the Friendly category is the Give History Lecture About... category. This includes 7 different lectures for your Sim to choose from:

There are a range of buffs available for sims listening to the lectures and for the sim giving it. Some are trait dependent but most are available for all. There are more buffs than those shown.

Additionally, in order to provide a better experience when your Sims are working from home, I created a small set of 3 custom interactions on the computer, which are used as Work From Home tasks or promotion requirements. These can be found under the Career/Museum Archives menu on the computer. These are:
- Listen To History Podcast
- Plan Museum Talk
- Research History

Translations
The career is presently in:
~ English (by me)
~ Chinese (by alecgao888)
~ Russian (Origamika Group)

Degree Requirements
This career actually requires a degree before you can even join it. Your sim will need a degree in either History or Art History. If your sim doesn't have a degree, this career will NOT appear in the listing.
Additionally, if your sim wants to progress to the top of the career, they're going to need a History or Art History degree with Honours!

Career Details: Levels

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

2. Assistant ~ Clearly a quick study, you proved you were more than able to handle yourself as a Tour Guide and it seems someone in authority noticed, deciding you were wasted showing sticky fingered school children through the exhibits. The job title is vague, and you don't seem to be assisting a single department, but all of them at once. Still, work hard, keep your notes organised and someone will soon realise that you're indispensable.

Hours: 9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

3. Archivist ~ No longer taking notes for everyone else, now you're cataloguing artefacts and preserving the historical records pertaining to them as they come through the museum. You're still called upon to occasionally provide educational services to the museum visitors, but most of your time is spent in research and processing records.
§55/hour
Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Objectives: Reach Level 3 Writing Skill
Reach Level 2 Photography Skill

4. Registrar ~ Ancient art and artefacts are very old and fragile, and it's now your job to make sure that they all remain safe and are properly accounted for. Museums occasionally lend their exhibits to other places, and its up to you to keep the process running smoothly with your organisational and people skills learned from your days as an Assistant and Tour Guide. Keep an eye on the pieces, know what can cause damage and how best to avoid it and above all make sure nothing goes missing!

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Objectives: Reach Level 4 Logic Skill
Reach Level 4 Charisma Skill

5. Conservator ~ You learned a lot in your time as a Registrar about what can damage ancient pieces and how best to avoid it. The Director took notice, and has now placed you within the conservation environment. You'll be responsible for applying scientific methods to these relics of old times, preserving and restoring them in the best possible way. Monitor and control the environment in which these objects are placed and safely store or display them in ways that prevent any further deterioration.
§95/hour
Hours: 9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Objectives: Reach Level 5 Charisma Skill

6. Project Officer ~ You'll need your best planning skills with this one. People who matter have taken notice of your skill with the relics and your almost limitless knowledge on how best to care for, and display them. Now you're part of a team responsible for operating long term exhibitions, coordinating maintenance and facilitating the installation and de-installation of temporary and travelling exhibitions. Show them you have what it takes!
§120/hour
Hours: 9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Objectives: Reach Level 3 Handiness Skill

7. Exhibition Project Manager ~ Well, you showed them. So much so, that the Director made you the lead. Now you have a team of people under your supervision and you're expected to coordinate and promote strategic projects related to the Museum's major exhibitions. You'll be interacting with a lot of people, so make sure you're prepared. Be objective, approachable and organised. History is depending on you to present it in the best possible light!
§145/hour
Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Objectives: Reach Level 6 Charisma Skill

8. Curator ~ Everything you've learned so far will really help you to shine now that you've been promoted to Curator. You'll still need to keep your public relations skills sharp, both for dealing with museum visitors and with the staff. You've proved that you know your stuff - you know how to care for these relics and pieces of art, and how to display them to their best advantage, as well as a deep pool of historical knowledge to draw upon.
§180/hour
Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Objectives: Reach Level 6 Logic Skill
Reach Level 7 Charisma Skill

9. Chief Curator ~ Liaising with the Director and other department heads is important now you've been promoted. Your work history, and the impressive array of skills you've amassed have groomed you well for the position of Chief Curator. Its up to you to select and obtain relics of interest that will be displayed in the museum. You're still swamped with administrative duties, but they can be a little more interesting, such as negotiating the purchase of items, or arranging the loan of collections from elsewhere. A little article writing on the side, with a dash of publicity material and you could be well on your way to running the entire show.
§240/hour
Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Objectives: Reach Level 8 Charisma Skill
Reach Level 7 Logic Skill
Reach Level 4 Writing Skill
Get A History/Art History Degree With Honours

10. Museum Director ~ You're the key liaison between the museum's board and staff. Its a lot of management and overseeing others but that's okay, you can take pride in the smooth day to day running of the exhibits. It's on your shoulders to protect the interests of the museum's collections, sweet talk potential donators and prioritise fund raising goals. You seem to spend less time with relics of the historical kind and more time with relics of... well, you should probably keep your opinions of the Board Members to yourself if you want to keep your job.
§360/hour
Hours: 9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Objectives: Reach Level 10 Charisma Skill
Reach level 8 Logic Skill

Known Issues
For reasons known only to Sims 4, in spite of completing all work from home tasks, sometimes the boss is disappointed with the work done. I don't actually know why this happens but you get the money (although less than anticipated). Just the notification is a bit off. This is a known issue and as yet, there's no known solution.
